“'Tis the good reader that makes the good book; in every book he finds passages which seem to be confidences or sides hidden from all else and unmistakably meant for his ear; the profit of books is according to the sensibility of the reader; the profound thought or passion sleeps as in a mine, until it is discovered by an equal mind and heart.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

My name is Liz King and welcome to my blog. The quote above probably gives me away already as a typical bookworm. Well, I guess I’m guilty as charged. The only thing in this world that doesn’t lose my interest is reading. I could spend all day reading a good book and you won’t hear me complaining. In fact, if it’s really a brilliant piece, I’d probably ask you to give me more.

I’m about to start college next year, so I’m already on the lookout for various online universities that offer Literature as an undergraduate degree. My parents and I (after a really, really, really long discussion) have agreed that an online education would be best for me. I was initially hesitant about the idea, but after weighing the pros and cons and finally getting to the conclusion that the former outweighed the later, I eventually conceded. Now, I’m terribly excited about the prospect of it all and I can’t wait for next year. In the meantime, I’d busy myself updating this blog, writing about my most recent reads, whether or not they’re worth recommending.
